LCT stands for "Landmark City Tower," and it is the glass giant you cannot miss on Haeundae Beach. The tallest of its towers passes 100 floors and is one of the tallest buildings in Korea, with the Signiel Busan hotel right at the top. But ask any local and you will get a story. Putting a building this tall directly on the beach was hugely controversial, and it ended up at the center of one of Busan's biggest corruption cases, the so-called "LCT scandal," with long investigations over how permits and favors were handled. So to Koreans, LCT is not just somewhere to sleep. It is a name everyone has heard on the news. Part of the fun, honestly, was spending a night somewhere my parents had only ever seen in headlines.
A practical note for first-timers: this is a residence, not a hotel. In Korea, apartment-style residence stays are really common, with full kitchens and laundry, and many units are individually owned and run by a management company on the owner's behalf. (I explain this more in my El Momento Osiria review.) For you it means space and a kitchen, which is great for families.
· Where: Haeundae's LCT landmark towers, steps from Haeundae Beach and Dalmaji-gil
· Type: High-floor ocean-view residence (full kitchen)
· Our room: Ocean Junior Suite, Mipo Harbor view
· Great for: Families, couples, ocean-view stays, longer trips
🏢 The building & the lobby
From the outside, the LCT towers look properly grand. The residence lobby itself is pretty ordinary, honestly, much like any other residence. The building is enormous, so check-in took a second to find your way around, but the difference hits you upstairs, in the room.

🌊 The living room & that view
Our room was an Ocean Junior Suite with a Mipo Harbor view, and the moment you walk in, the sea fills the windows. It is on a high floor, so the view is wide open, and you get it from both the living room and the bedroom. There is also a separate desk area, so it is easy to get a little work done with the ocean right in front of you. The living room is roomy, so it was comfortable even with my parents and the baby.

🛏 Bedroom
The bedroom faces the windows too, so you can see the sea from bed. Best of all is opening the curtains to an ocean view first thing in the morning. That is the high-floor residence magic.

🍳 Kitchen (yes, we cooked)
Being a residence, the kitchen has everything: an induction cooktop, an oven and microwave, a Nespresso machine and kettle, and cookware. We grabbed some beef and grilled it for dinner, and the whole family ate together and loved it. Cooking with the sea in front of you makes an ordinary dinner feel special.

🛁 Bathroom
The bathroom has a tub, great for a soak after a day out.

🌃 Day and night, two different views
One of my favorite things was how the view changes completely from day to night. Wide blue sea by day, then Haeundae's city lights after dark. We were honestly happy just staying in.

💡 Tips
· The complex is huge, so check your check-in route in advance.
· If you use the tub, skip strong bath bombs, which can stain or clog high-end tubs.
· Haeundae Beach and Dalmaji-gil are right there for a walk.
· LCT is a residence with several operators (ours was LCT Management), so booking and room lineups vary a little.
⭐ The verdict
So, is it worth it? For me the high-floor ocean view alone made it: the sea from every room, cooking dinner as a family, and my parents grinning at that Haeundae view. One honest note on price. It used to be roughly half the price of the Signiel, but these days it feels pricier, which is a little disappointing. So here is how I would choose. If you want full hotel facilities and service, go for the Signiel Busan, a hotel even higher up in the same LCT tower. If you want a home-like residence with space and a kitchen, the LCT Residence is a great pick. For a view-first family or couple trip in Haeundae, I would happily recommend it.
