Looking for a family resort near Seoul? Konjiam Resort sits about an hour from the city, right next to Hwadamsup (Hwadam Botanic Garden), and packs a ski hill, spa, golf and condos into one place. We went as four families — kids all around the same age — and booked two cook-in condos across the hall from each other, so the little ones could run between rooms. It made an easy, low-stress getaway with kids.

What is Konjiam Resort?
Konjiam is a four-season resort run under the “resort for everyday life” concept. In winter it’s a ski resort; from spring to autumn the draw is Hwadamsup next door; and year-round there’s the spa, golf and condos. The soaring wood-beam lobby is a nice first impression, and on summer evenings the resort runs small lobby performances.
Right next to Hwadamsup (Hwadam Botanic Garden)
Hwadamsup (Hwadam Botanic Garden) is a large forest garden right above the resort, run by the LG Sangnok Foundation. You can wander themed gardens — a moss garden, birch forest, seasonal wildflowers and autumn foliage — on foot or by a scenic monorail. It’s open Tue–Sun 09:00–18:00 (last entry 17:00) and closed Mondays; booking online ahead is recommended on weekends. Because the garden is literally next door, pairing a Hwadamsup visit with a night at Konjiam is the natural move. (We focused on the stay this time, but the two are easy to combine.)
Getting there & parking
It’s about an hour’s drive from Seoul, and the resort sits right beside Hwadamsup. If you register your stay in advance, underground parking is free; when it’s full, staff direct you to the outdoor lots. You register your car at a self-desk, with one underground spot per room and extra cars parking outdoors.
The cook-in condo
Our unit was a cook-in condo, which is ideal for families: a real sink with a faucet, an induction cooktop, a microwave, a rice cooker and a mini fridge, plus cups, plates and pots — so feeding the kids was easy. The living room is spacious and clean, and the TV has Netflix and plenty of channels. With four families and lots of kids, there was room to spread out.
Bedrooms & ondol room
There’s a bedroom plus a Korean-style ondol (heated-floor) room with plenty of bedding, so a big group sleeps comfortably. Our unit also had two bathrooms, which meant no morning queue even with four families sharing.

Both bathrooms were clean and well kept, stocked with shampoo and body wash (no bidet).
The kitchen (yes, you can cook)
The cook-in kitchen has everything you need for simple meals — a big plus if you’re traveling with young kids and want to make breakfast in the room.
The view
The balcony looks out over the mountains and the resort. In summer everything is green and cool.
Facilities
There’s a lot on site — enough that “once you check in, you barely need to leave”:
• La Spa (pool & sauna), 10:30–20:00 (last entry 18:30) — great for younger kids
• A surprisingly large 24-hour GS25 convenience store, plus a fitness center
• An arcade, self-service karaoke, billiards and table tennis downstairs
• An eco-stream and walking trails, with waterfalls dotted around
• Seasonal draws like the Luge 360 and the Sky Garden gondola
Dining & delivery
The resort has plenty of restaurants (a buffet, Korean and Western spots), and in-room delivery is available. Note that in-room and outside delivery mostly run on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays, so on weekdays plan to eat at a resort restaurant or use the convenience store.

Across Tripadvisor (4.2/5), Yanolja (4.8/5) and Trip.com (8.6/10), the recurring praise is that it’s one of the best-maintained resorts near the capital (especially the ski slopes) and close to Seoul; rooms are clean with good soundproofing and bedding; front desk, check-in/out and parking are easy; and the on-site facilities are so complete that you can happily stay put — particularly good for younger kids. The common gripes: peak-season rack rates aren’t cheap, the pool isn’t a full water park, and being tucked in the forest makes popping out (or ordering outside delivery) less convenient.
Verdict
The cook-in kitchen made meals with kids easy, the rooms were roomy and clean, and the facilities are full. It’s a great pick for several families traveling together, and good value off-peak. Paired with Hwadamsup next door, it’s an easy four-season family getaway near Seoul.
