Haeundae is full of 5-star towers (Signiel, Westin Josun), but tucked between them are a surprising number of 3–4 star value hotels worth knowing. Hound Garden & Terrace is one of the better ones, a budget-friendly Haeundae stay with a genuinely good-looking, Bali-resort-style lounge and a rooftop pool. We went on a weekend with a baby, looking for value, and it hit the spot. Here’s the honest take.

Why Hound Garden & Terrace
First, a heads-up: there are actually two Hound hotels in Haeundae, right next to each other, Hound Signature and Hound Garden & Terrace. Garden & Terrace is the newer of the two. (Hound has several properties around Korea, run franchise-style.)
We picked Garden & Terrace for one reason: the lounge. The photos looked like a Bali resort, and in person it delivered, rattan textures, hanging decor, and a glass-walled communal space that feels half-outdoors.

Location & Exterior, Close to the Beach, but Mind the Entrance

It’s an easy walk to Haeundae Beach, so getting around is simple. One honest catch for stroller travelers: the front entrance is up a flight of stairs. There’s a wheelchair lift to the right, but staff have to operate it, which was a bit awkward. The easier move with a stroller or luggage is to enter from the basement parking garage, which has an elevator straight up to the lobby and rooms.
The Lobby Lounge, The Real Reason to Book
This is the hotel’s standout. For a value property, the Bali-resort styling is a genuine surprise, rattan furniture, a glass-walled section that feels like an outdoor garden room, and plenty of seating to actually hang out in.
The practical touches are just as good, especially with a baby:
- Free automatic espresso machine (anytime)
- Ice machine
- Microwave (perfect for warming baby food)
- Cesco air-purifying equipment

Check-in is 3 PM, but the owner kindly gave us an early check-in at 1 PM when he saw we had a baby, the kind of small gesture that goes a long way at this price point.
The Room (Family Room), Wood Floors Win with a Baby

Our family room had wood (maru) flooring, which is a big deal with a crawling baby, much easier than carpet. There’s a desk, a TV, rattan-style chair and table, and, true to the name, a small terrace. Overall it’s clean, with rattan accents that carry the Southeast-Asia feel through from the lobby.

One honest downside: there was construction nearby during our stay, so the view wasn’t great. Worth checking when you book, as it may change.
The Bathroom, A Bigger Tub Is a Baby Bonus

The bathtub is slightly larger than a typical hotel tub, which made it great for letting the baby splash. Toiletries come in large refillable bottles (single-use minis are now banned in Korea), and the tightly-laid rectangular tiling looks sleek. Three robes are provided, handy for a family.

Rooftop Pool, Great View, but Small

Towels are stocked at the entrance, and you can see Haeundae’s sea in the distance, the atmosphere is genuinely nice. The honest catches:
- No separate hot tub
- It’s on the small side
We visited in April, so we only dipped in briefly. (The pool gowns have a big cute logo on them.) If the pool experience is your main reason for booking, L7 Haeundae‘s 19F infinity pool is a clear step up.

Tip: dinner with a baby felt awkward to go out for, so we ordered sashimi (hoe) to the room, and even in Haeundae it was good value, spicy stew (maeuntang) included.
Breakfast, ₩10K Well Spent

The breakfast room sits right by the pool, so you eat with a pool view in a clean, simple space. It’s ₩12,000, or ₩10,000 if you prepay the night before. The spread is Korean-leaning and well put together for the price. (We overslept and arrived near the end, staff kindly offered a refund since we’d missed most of it, which says a lot about the service.)

If you eat breakfast, it’s worth booking.
Who It’s For
✅ Book Hound Garden & Terrace if you…
- Travel with a baby or family, wood floors, a big tub, and lobby microwave/ice/coffee make life easy
- Want value but not boring, the Bali-style lounge gives it real character
- Want to be near Haeundae Beach without 5-star prices
❌ Skip it if you…
- Are booking mainly for the pool (small, no hot tub, try L7 or Signiel)

- Need a step-free, stroller-friendly entrance
How It Compares in Haeundae
For 5-star, look at Signiel Busan or The Westin Josun Busan. In the same value bracket, Shilla Stay Haeundae and Baymond Hotel Haeundae are the alternatives. Hound Garden & Terrace’s edge is that “Bali-vibe lounge + baby-friendly” combination at a budget price.

Final Verdict
Hound Garden & Terrace is an easy recommendation as a baby-friendly value hotel in Haeundae, close to the beach, wood-floor rooms, handy lobby amenities, and a lounge with genuine personality. As long as you can live with a small rooftop pool and a stair entrance, it punches above its price for families who want a bit of atmosphere.
